Today is the first meeting of EFT held by PGRI. Since the information shared about this group, there are so many teachers who are eager to join. This group is not only for English teachers but also for all teachers who want to sharp their English. As the result, hundreds teachers are here, in this group. One of them is me. 

It’s an honor to me, being here, in this great group, English for Teachers with PGRI, with all amazing teachers. We need this community. We fully realize that English is a language and a language should be practiced and used. So, joining this group is one of the ways, chances and the places. Furthermore, by joining this group we can share our experience, knowledge as well as improve our English skills. 

 

Well, the topic of this meeting was about the basic English and self-introduction. Ms. Leni as the moderator was so energetic in leading the meeting and so was the speaker. Ms. Vina as the speaker was so inspiring and motivating the participants in enriching their English. Her spirit stunned me to keep staying in the zoom meeting until the end. 

Although, the material was about the basic English we shouldn't take it for granted. Starting form the basic one brings us to be the expert.

 

As explained by Ms. Vina, to start learning English we have to know what we need to do first: memorizing the word, learning grammar, taking an English course, getting academic degree or event moving abroad. By doing so, we will know things we can, can't, will or won't. However, the important thing is our willingness to do. 

I do agree when the speaker said to start using English easily were by reading, writing, conversing and speaking. Yes...once again we have to realize that English is a language. As what I am doing now, writing the resume of this meeting in English, is one of my efforts in learning and improving my English. Don't hesitate, just go for it and see the miracle of your English.

Then, the speaker shared how to introduce ourselves in English and asked us to introduce ourselves. Some teachers got that chance, including me. So happy to know all amazing teachers in this group, as finding best friends whom I couldn't find before.

And here I would like to introduce myself again, so we can get in touch more.

OK, great teachers, I am Nur Azizah. I am from Pangkalpinang-Bangka Belitung province. I am sure Bangka Belitung province is familiar for you all for its “Laskar Pelangi” and of course for its beautiful beaches. My hobbies are reading, traveling, and now, since I’ve joined “GMLD” group founded by Om Jay, writing is also one of my hobbies.

I’ve been teaching English since 2006.  For teaching experience, most of them related to vocational high school.  Now, I am one of the English teachers in vocational high school number 3 Pangkalpinang. It is tourism school. Before teaching in this school, I taught at the other vocational high schools in the fields of business and management, and technology.

OK, that’s all for my introduction, nice to meet you all. Hopefully, all of us can keep our spirit and be consistent in this group; sharing, learning and practicing our English and up grading ourselves.
